Iranian-American filmmaker Desiree Akhavan is the co-creator and star of the award-winning web series “The Slope,” a comedy that follows the lives of a superficial, homophobic lesbian couple navigating their way through modern-day Park Slope, Brooklyn. Her short film “Nose Job” played at festivals around the country including Brooklyn Arts Council’s Scene: Brooklyn and the Women’s International Film Festival. Akhavan has a BA from Smith College and is currently a thesis student at NYU’s Grad Film Program.
