Gary Hoover studied economics at the University of Chicago under 3 Nobel Prize winners, then worked on Wall Street and in retailing. He then created pioneering book superstore BOOKSTOP, which was sold to Barnes & Noble for $41.5MM. Gary then founded the company that became Hoovers.com, the company information website. In 2009-10, Gary served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in Austin. Gary blogs at www.hooversworld.com and on his YouTube channel, and teaches entrepreneurship. He’s been a student of business history for 50 years, and speaks often on the lessons to be learned.
