Amen to this post. The more tweeps I follow, the more I see the misuse of Twitter and other social media platforms. Saw someone's profile page and this guy had the SAME message saying "if you like this then you will love this blog post please digg it" to all the people he tweeted!! I was flabbergasted!

Those who join social media have different interests. http://itimes.com a relatively new Indian social network promoted by Indiatimes group has attracted many indians through celebrity members. Many fans/followers are interested in viewing pictures, videos and news relating to their idols. A very few of them write blogs and among them, a very small no. of people can think independently. The media manager are doing their jobs and building relationship is out of question. If we see politicians with millions of followers on twitter, how can they build one to one relationship with masses. If you are a kind of Guru, you will have followers numbering in millions. Social media serves a purpose for them, to keep their image clean as yellow journalism is rampant producing all kind of gossip, criticism etc.
For common persons like you and me who have some message it is very important that we build some kind of fraternity among us. For us social media can not serve if we only post our links on Twitter. We can help our cause only if we cooperate with each other.
