Convergence indeed. People tend to forget that evolution of various forms of media does not necessarily mean the extinction of existing or older ones. Often, I get annoyed when hype-mongers readily drop terms like 'switching to' or 'replacing'—and not just in relation to media but technology in general. This is a great reminder that keeps things in perspective. Thanks!

You know, I agree completely. People sometimes forget that these different types of media can work quite well together. I often send traditional press releases (and promote via newspaper and radio) to drive traffic/raise awareness of something online. I'm currently in that Murphy-Goode "A Really Goode Job" contest and I've had great success promoting my video by sending press releases to local media. (The video, by the way, is at http://bit.ly/reallygoodejob.) My point, though, is to never discount the power of traditional media.
